Harassment Policy

J.L. French is committed to providing a working environment in which its employees are treated with courtesy, respect and dignity. We will not tolerate harassment based on sex, race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, protected activity or any other bases. While all forms of harassment are prohibited, we wish to specifically emphasize that the Company will not tolerate or condone any actions by any persons, which constitute sexual harassment of any employee.

Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, written or physical conduct of a sexual nature by employees, supervisors or other persons where such conduct is either made an explicit or implicit term or condition of employment, used as the basis for employment decisions affecting employees, or has the purpose or effect of interfering with an employee's work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment. Sexual harassment includes conduct directed by a person at another person of the same or opposite gender.

Comments with sexual overtones, sexual jokes or ridicule, physical gestures or actions of a sexual nature, solicitations for sexual favors, and display or transfer of offensive, sexually graphic materials are just a few examples of violations of this policy.

Employees who believe that they have been subjected to harassment by an employee, supervisor, customer, vendor, or any other individual, or who know of such an incident, should promptly report such incident to the Company. A complaint of harassment should be directed to the Human Resources Department, your supervisor or any member of the management team. The complaint will be promptly and fully investigated to ensure compliance with this policy. Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent reasonably practical, consistent with the need to investigate the complaint. Retaliation against or harassment of witnesses and victims is prohibited.

An employee who violates this policy by engaging in any form of harassment will be subject to discipline, up to and including immediate discharge.
